Florida Woman Charged After Attempting To Kidnap Child From Grandma At Shell Gas Station

A woman accused of trying to kidnap a 5-year-old boy from his grandmother at a gas station is being held on a $60,000 bond, a judge ruled on Wednesday.

Deputies arrested Ivanna Nobile, 38, on Tuesday morning after the incident at the Shell station located at 5 N. Federal Highway. The Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) reported that the boy’s grandmother had parked there because her SUV’s engine began smoking.

According to the arrest report, Nobile approached the grandmother, made an unclear remark about an identification card, then opened the back door of the vehicle and grabbed the child’s arm. She allegedly said, “I’m taking him. This child is the wrong color to be with this woman.”

The grandmother stepped in immediately. Authorities said multiple witnesses and surveillance footage confirmed the incident, and the child did not suffer any visible injuries.

Nobile faces charges of burglary and false imprisonment of a child. BSO records also show she is being held on an immigration detainer.

The BSO report confirmed the boy had no visible injuries.
