Two men were taken into custody for violating a new Florida rule after driving at least 100 mph on the same stretch of road at Walt Disney World, according to Orange County Sheriff’s records.

They were also pulled over by the same deputy.

According to the sheriff’s arrest report, Layton North Browning Jaynes hit 117 mph in his blue Porsche 911 while driving north on Epcot Center Drive near Buena Vista Drive, when the posted speed was 50 mph.

Ryan Schulz then drove 144 mph on his black Yamaha MT-10 motorcycle in the same area shortly before 7 a.m. on October 7, according to his arrest record.

Schulz told police he was running late for work.

Jaynes, 32, of Orlando, and Schulz, 31, of Orlando, were arrested for dangerous excessive speeding under the “Super Speeder Law.” Instead of simply receiving a speeding ticket, a first-time offender found guilty faces up to 30 days in jail and a $500 fine.

Both pled not guilty, according to court records.

The new criminal infraction has surprised many people who have been stopped and arrested, including Jaynes and Schulz, who were unaware of the dangers of excessive speeding, according to their arrest reports.

Since the law went into effect on July 1, nearly 100 people have been arrested for dangerous excessive speeding for exceeding 100 mph, the Orlando Sentinel reported last month.

Jaynes and Schulz were both issued citations for other infractions.

Schulz’s address on his driver’s license was out of date. According to their arrest reports, Jaynes’ driver’s license had both an expired tag and an outdated address.

Attorneys for Jaynes and Schulz declined to comment or did not reply to a request for one.

Epcot Center Drive is a major thoroughfare through Disney World, passing Epcot and Disney Springs in an area where thousands of employees and visitors go.

The two men’s arrests are among dozens that have occurred at Disney this year.
