Florida Man Detained After Chatting With Undercover Posing As 12-year-old

A Florida man was arrested after speaking with an undercover detective disguised as a 12-year-old girl.

Kyle Mullen, 36, of Jacksonville, was arrested at his home earlier this month and put into the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detention center before being extradited to Polk County. He was one of the suspects charged by warrant during “Operation Fool Around and Find Out—Again/ Operation Child Protector VII” in Polk County, Central Florida.

During the inquiry, which began in September, Mullen communicated online with an undercover officer dressed as a 12-year-old girl. Mullen made the following statements throughout the conversation: “Grady fucking Judd” and “Fuck Polk County, I got arrested there like 2 months ago.”

Detectives verified that he was arrested in Davenport on July 2nd after being discovered sitting in a truck behind a shuttered Auto Zone. He was charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia. He was released the next day after posting bond, according to the PCSO.

Mullen informed the UC that he would travel 200 mph to see the girl in Polk County and that he had sent her a nude photo.

Detectives acquired a warrant for his arrest for transmitting harmful material to a kid and using a two-way communication device to commit a felony.

The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended Mullen without incident.

“Child predators like Kyle Mullen, who groom children online for the purpose of sexually abusing them, don’t stop until they are caught – which is why our investigations don’t stop until we catch them,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “If you prey on a child in our county, we will do everything in our power to identify you, charge you, and take you into custody.”
