A Texas man has been charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, after prosecutors say he fatally shot two men inside a Michigan car dealership last week.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Terrance Jermaine Sandles, 46, of Houston, was arraigned Monday, November 10, 2025, in Shelby Township.
According to investigators, the charges stem from the killings of Marvan Batoo, 40, of Shelby Township, the owner of Star Auto Sales, and Ghaith Baban, 48, of Clinton Township, who was inside the dealership at the time. The shooting occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Star Auto Sales office located at 47092 Ryan Road.
Authorities say Sandles entered the dealership and shot both men during what they believe was a robbery. An employee discovered the victims soon after and alerted police, telling investigators that Sandles had recently been involved in a dispute with the dealership over a vehicle purchase.
Detectives quickly identified Sandles using the vehicle at the center of the dispute and tracked him to a hotel in Romulus, Michigan. He was arrested without incident, and investigators recovered evidence allegedly connecting him to the murders, along with a significant quantity of cocaine.
Sandles faces 14 felony charges and a Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense Notice, which could enhance his sentence. The charges include:
-
Two counts of First-Degree Premeditated Murder (life without parole)
-
Two counts of Armed Robbery (life or any term of years)
-
One count of Delivery/Manufacture of 50–449 grams of a controlled substance (20-year felony)
-
Four weapons charges for possession by a prohibited person and carrying a concealed weapon
-
Seven counts of Felony Firearm, each carrying a mandatory two-year sentence to be served consecutively
Sandles is being held without bond at the Macomb County Jail.
“The allegations in this matter are horrifying,” Prosecutor Lucido said. “My office will seek justice on behalf of the victims, and our thoughts are with the families who have suffered this terrible loss.”
