Fairfield police arrest DUI suspect after crash leaves 1 dead on I-80 overpass

A person died after a crash early Tuesday morning on the Travis Boulevard overpass in Fairfield.

The crash occurred just before 1:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the Interstate 80 overpass, near the off-ramp to the eastbound side of the freeway.

Fairfield police say a vehicle struck and killed a person.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name, but they identified the driver as 35-year-old Fairfield resident Kyle Dolcee. Officers arrested Dolcee on suspicion of DUI.

Lanes on the overpass, along with the eastbound off-ramp for I-80, remained blocked through the early morning. All lanes reopened by 6:30 a.m.
