On Saturday around 12:40 p.m., a Texas DPS trooper was on a routine patrol in El Paso County.
On IH-10, the trooper noticed a white Dodge Charger with a black hood, an incorrectly placed license plate, and driving above the speed limit.
The white Charger made several unsafe lane changes and headed east. The Charger exited IH-10 and continued in and out of traffic before driving south on Lee Trevino.
After completing a U-turn, the Charger drove north on Lee Trevino and into the parking lot of a car dealership.
The DPS trooper lost sight of the car.
Following additional investigation, DPS troopers spotted the white Charger near North Zaragoza, between the Taco Bell and Canes eateries.
The driver was identified as Brandon Tarin, 20, of El Paso. Tarin was detained and accused of escaping arrest or custody using a vehicle.
The investigation is underway.
