A police officer asked Anderson where he was heading, and he replied, “Homosassa.” He couldn’t tell you where he was or where he had come from. He also indicated that the vehicle was rented, according to the article.

When asked for his ID, he took out his wallet and cautiously gave them his Truist bank card. He eventually gave his ID when an officer explained the distinction. He subsequently admitted to drinking alcohol before driving but couldn’t say what or how many drinks he had, according to the report.

The officers ordered Anderson to turn off the vehicle, and he tried to locate the push ignition before stepping out. He staggered and tripped so much that officers had to intervene to keep him from collapsing. He smelled strongly of alcohol but declined to take field sobriety tests. He later gave breath samples of 0.189 g/210 L and 0.192 g/210 L, according to the report.

Anderson was arrested for DUI and taken to Lake County Jail. The Indiana native was released after posting a $2,000 bond.
