Dublin Man Apprehended In Utah On Federal Child Exploitation Charges

Sacramento Domestic Violence Suspect Dies by Suicide After Firing at Deputy, Ending Hours-Long Standoff

A Dublin man was taken into custody in Utah last week and charged federally with sexual exploitation crimes against minors, according to U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace II.

Wade Christofferson, 72, appeared in US District Court in Utah on Tuesday. He is accused of attempting to sexually exploit a minor and using coercion and persuasion.

According to court records, the Dublin Police Department received a report on November 12 about Christofferson’s alleged sexual assault of a juvenile when the victim was between the ages of 7 and 8.

The attorney’s office alleges that Christofferson sexually molested the youngster 15 to 20 times.

He also allegedly made a graphic FaceTime contact and sexually molested a second underage victim in Utah.

According to the complaint affidavit, Christofferson allegedly taught the seven-year-old Utah victim code language for sexual activity.

According to Gerace’s office, Dublin police officers searched Christofferson’s residence on the same day they got the alleged abuse accusation.

Officers reportedly discovered a section of the house accessible via a child-sized door labeled “H POTTER.” Inside the renovated attic crawl area, detectives claimed to have discovered children’s writing on the walls as well as a mattress, pillows, and blankets on the floor.

Christofferson’s phone allegedly had search history for “criminal defense attorneys sex crimes columbus ohio” and “In Ohio do clergy have to report child abuse confessions.”

He is scheduled to be extradited from Utah back to Ohio.
