Drug-addled Driver Detained After Slow-speed Chase Through Rochelle

Jacob Feiden, 32, of Mount Carroll, was detained after a chase with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and charged with aggravated fleeing to evade and driving while under the influence of drugs.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were informed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office that they were involved in a chase with the driver of a 2013 Kia Soul traveling east on Illinois Route 38.

Ogle County officers apprehended the offender just east of Rochelle, using stop sticks to blow out the tires and disable the vehicle as it approached the city boundaries.

However, the driver proceeded to flee police at a sluggish pace around the city, according to authorities.

Police deployed additional stop sticks as the vehicle traveled north on US 251 and east on IL Route 64.

Jacob Feiden, 32, of Mount Carroll, eventually pulled over at the intersection of Lynnville Road and Route 64, where he was arrested.

According to police, Feiden was brought to the hospital for an undisclosed medical condition.

He was accused of aggravated running to elude and driving under the influence of drugs.

Following his hospital stay, Feiden was transported to the Ogle County Jail, processed, and released with a notice to appear in court at a later date.
