Two people were injured Tuesday evening in what investigators believe was a drive-by shooting in Stockton, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the 700 block of Gertrude Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. Deputies said early evidence indicates the shooting was a drive-by, though no suspect information has been released.
Authorities are urging residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
