Davie police are investigating after a double shooting inside a local home left one elderly person dead and another with life-threatening injuries Sunday night.
Officers responded to a residence in the 4700 block of SW 70th Terrace just after 8:30 p.m. following reports of gunfire. When they arrived, police discovered two elderly adult victims inside the home. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the victims, and details about what led to the shooting have not been released.
Police emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the community and said they are not searching for additional suspects at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
