U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro stated that Robert Jameson, 60, a District resident, was sentenced to seven years in prison for an armed robbery at O’Connor’s Liquors in Southeast D.C. According to the US Attorney’s Office, the sentencing in D.C. Superior Court included a subsequent five-year supervised release.
According to the prosecution’s evidence, on the evening of February 16, 2025, Jameson entered the liquor store on the 2900 block of Minnesota Avenue, flashed a weapon at the store manager, and stole a package of Fireball shots and numerous lottery tickets. His effort to take the cash register failed, and Jameson left on foot. Later that evening, police officers used store security camera footage to identify Jameson, who was still dressed in the same distinctive attire.
A search of Jameson’s home turned up the stolen Fireball shots as well as an imitation weapon. Jameson has remained in detention since his arrest on the night of the incident. On March 26, 2025, Jameson pled guilty to one count of armed robbery, and Superior Court Judge Robert Salerno gave down the sentence.
Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela A. Smith, who participated in the event, praised the investigation work that led to Jameson’s quick arrest and punishment. Assistant United States Attorney Jacob Green, who was in charge of the case’s prosecution, was also recognized for his contributions to the proceedings. This judgment brings an end to the rapid justice process that began following the February armed robbery.
