D.C. Man Andre Rushing Sentenced To 108 Months In Prison For Violent Carjacking Spree

Andre Rushing, a 23-year-old District of Columbia resident, was sentenced to 108 months in prison for a string of violent carjackings and armed robberies that terrorized the metropolitan area in March 2023. The sentencing was announced by US Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro.

Rushing, also known as “Dre,” pleaded guilty on March 17, confessing to four consecutive carjackings and flashing a pistol during a violent crime. On March 30, 2023, his crime spree came to a stop when Rushing and his co-defendants were captured in Fairfax County while attempting to evade the police in a stolen vehicle. The information was provided by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.

In addition to his jail sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras has ordered that Rushing undergo 5 years of supervised release after completing his time in prison. Indictment files have revealed details of the March 6, 2023 carjacking, which was one of four admitted by Rushing:According to the same news release, at 9:20 p.m. on the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, he pointed a handgun at a guy and demanded the victim’s keys and phone while his co-defendant Javon Roach threatened him nearby with a loaded long-style revolver.

Reid Davis, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Office Criminal Division, and Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela A. Smith emphasized the gravity and violence of Rushing’s conduct during their joint sentence announcement.
