On Sunday, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in rural Geneseo about a potential trespasser inside a cattle shed.
The caller reported seeing a “suspicious male subject” inside the facility, according to Chief Deputy Ben Franklin’s news release.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the individual had fled the building and the surrounding area.
Following an inquiry, 64-year-old Colona resident Mark Leihsing was identified and detained.
Leihsing was charged with burglary and sexual crimes on an animal. He was brought to the Henry County Jail, where he remains pending a formal court appearance on Wednesday.
“No further details will be released at this time,” Franklin stated in a news statement.
