A Chicago man has been charged with possessing meth, cocaine, and nearly a kilogram of cannabis, according to DuPage County police and prosecutors.

According to Naperville police and the DuPage County State’s Attorney, Brock Okennard, 45, was charged with nine felony counts of meth possession, possession with intent to deliver meth, possession of cocaine and cannabis, and resisting a police officer.

On November 8, officials stated the US Drug Enforcement Administration notified Naperville police about a man wanted for trafficking meth from California to Illinois, claiming he would arrive via Amtrak train in Naperville.

Police observed the suspect, identified as Okennard, at the train station shortly before 1:30 p.m. Officers attempted to speak with him, but Okennard fled when they informed him of a warrant for his arrest.

Police reported a brief struggle, and Okennard was detained shortly after.

According to officials, three officers were minorly injured during the struggle.

Investigators later checked his backpack and discovered more than 153 grams of a “pink powdery substance” that tested positive for meth and cocaine. They also discovered approximately 1000 grams of cannabis.
