A Central Florida man was recently detained for firing gunshots in the street over his job frustrations.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office dispatched numerous deputies to an east Lakeland area after receiving reports that a man was firing in the middle of Jungle Street.
Deputies were dispatched at 6:54 p.m. after witnesses said that the man fired several bullets into the air before walking into a property on Lakewood Court.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they made contact with the subject inside his home. He was identified as Tadeusz Jeffrey Chandler, 36.
Chandler’s statements to detectives indicate that his actions were motivated by workplace frustrations.
Chandler, according to local law enforcement, is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm. PCSO claimed he stole the pistol (Smith & Wesson M&P 5.7) from a relative.
Tadeuzs Jeffrey Chandler was apprehended without incident and taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where he was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public, improper exhibition of a firearm, and disorderly conduct.
According to local law officials, no one was hurt and no property damage was recorded in the gunshot incident.
