California Issues Evacuation Warnings Ahead of Major Storm

The state of California has issued evacuation warnings as a powerful storm approaches.

Forecasters expect the storm to bring heavy rainfall, possible flooding, and even rare tornadoes across parts of the state on Tuesday. According to KTLA, residents could face debris flows, slick roads, and isolated tornado activity.

“Remember, not all storms are the same,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said. “Some have different elements embedded with them that could at least deliver a little rotation, which would then result in either a downburst or perhaps a tornado. Not saying that’s going to happen, but … the dynamics are there that that could be one of the outliers.”

The National Weather Service has outlined the storm’s potential impact:

  • Up to 4 inches of rain in some regions

  • Wind gusts up to 55 MPH

  • Risk of isolated tornadoes

Authorities have already issued evacuation orders for sections of Los Angeles County.

“An evacuation order has been issued for 115 properties in Pacific Palisades. LAPD is going door to door and telling residents in these flood-prone areas to leave. The rest of the burn zone is in an evacuation warning,” Matthew Seedorff reported on X.

Residents are urged to stay alert and follow all safety instructions as conditions continue to develop.
