Broward Man Kills Driver, Shoots Alleged Robber in Dania Beach, BSO Reports

A man shot an alleged robber and fatally wounded another suspect who tried to run him over during a Saturday evening incident in Dania Beach, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said that around 6:52 p.m., they received several reports of a shooting near the 600 block of Stirling Road.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that a subject had been shot after allegedly robbing both a bystander and a business near the 800 block of Stirling Road.

Investigators said the bystander shot the alleged robber, who was later found in the parking lot of the business. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue rushed the injured suspect to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Detectives also learned that a second man attempted to run the bystander over while the shooting was happening. In fear for his safety, the bystander fired at the vehicle, deputies reported.

The vehicle was later discovered near the 100 block of Phippen Waiters Road in Dania Beach.

The driver suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, authorities confirmed.

Detectives from BSO’s Crime Scene, Robbery, and Homicide Units responded and continue to investigate the case.
