Boxed Body Case in Austin Ends with Arrest of Victim’s Roommate

Austin police have arrested Aidan Hunt on a First-Degree Murder charge after a man was found dead inside a cardboard box behind a bus stop on Victory Drive last week.

On Nov. 13, 2025, at around 5:22 p.m., officers responded to the 4107 block of Victory Drive after receiving a report of a deceased individual. When they arrived, they discovered the victim, later identified as Robert Wentworth, inside a large cardboard box with signs of trauma. He was pronounced dead at 5:53 p.m.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators began reconstructing the events that led to Wentworth’s death. Their investigation quickly led them to Hunt, who lived just a short distance from where the victim was found and was identified as Wentworth’s roommate.

Police executed a search warrant at Hunt’s residence, uncovering key evidence connecting him to the killing. An arrest warrant was then issued for First-Degree Murder.

The search for Hunt ended three days later, on the morning of Nov. 16, when members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located and arrested him in the 3900 block of Lamar Boulevard. The arrest was made without incident.
