John Skelton, the father of three Southeast Michigan boys missing for 15 years, has been arraigned on six charges — three counts of open murder and three counts of tampering with evidence.
Skelton, 53, appeared Monday in Lenawee County 2A District Court to face the charges, according to Michigan State Police.
Bond was set at $60 million, and he remains in the Lenawee County Jail.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for Nov. 24, with a preliminary exam set for Dec. 1, court records show.
The case has haunted the community for years. Andrew, 9; Alexander, 7; and Tanner, 5 — all from Morenci — were last seen in November 2010. A judge formally declared the boys dead in March 2025 at the request of their mother, Tanya Zuvers.
While the case remained open, Skelton served a 15-year sentence after pleading no contest to three counts of unlawful imprisonment for failing to return the boys following a court-ordered visitation. He was set to be released from the Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility on Nov. 29.
But last week, prosecutors charged him with open murder and evidence tampering tied to Nov. 25, 2010 — the last day the boys were known to be alive.
