A Binghamton man is facing charges after firing shots early Sunday morning.
According to Binghamton Police, officers arrived to the Gaines Street area about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday after receiving a complaint of a man shooting a firearm. When they arrived, they discovered a person matching the suspect’s description in a vehicle near the scene.
A following investigation resulted in a search of the car, which revealed a loaded .45-caliber handgun as well as a spent .45-caliber shell casing located outside 14 Gaines Street. There were no injuries recorded.
The suspect, Devonn Sobers of Binghamton, was recognized as 28 years old. He was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, as well as criminal possession of a firearm.
