Belleview Man Detained After Burglarizing Homeless Facility

A man is set to spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted of several burglary and violence crimes.

According to court records, 37-year-old Mitchel Searle was found guilty and sentenced to life last Friday.

Investigators believe Searle broke into Belleview’s Shepherd’s Lighthouse homeless shelter in December 2024.

He later approached a woman in her vehicle and elbowed her while attempting to flee police.

Prior to this conviction, Searle was found guilty of multiple other counts, including trespassing and grand theft.
