Bakersfield Man Killed in High-Speed Crash with Tree Identified

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died after crashing into a tree on South Real Road as 31-year-old Victor Antonio Alarcon of Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department reported that officers responded around 11:38 p.m. on September 22, 2025, to the 2200 block of South Real Road after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Officers found Alarcon’s vehicle had struck a tree. He sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was traveling north at a high rate of speed, crossed into oncoming traffic lanes, and collided with the tree. Police said speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.
