A 33-year-old Auburndale woman was arrested this week after allegedly using a young male to steal products from a Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Posner Park, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
Cumesha Loanmen, 33, of Auburndale, was arrested on Monday, November 3, 2025, after store staff identified her and the boy and alerted authorities.
The initial incident occurred on Friday, October 31, 2025, at around 9:02 p.m., when personnel spotted the woman and a juvenile, estimated to be nine years old, committing a theft. The suspect allegedly removed a $35 hoodie off a shelf and placed it on the boy. She then went to the checkout lane and paid for a pair of baseball cleats with cash, but not for the boy’s hoodie.
A store clerk alerted detectives that the woman and youngster had reportedly committed this type of theft multiple times before.
Loanmen and the child returned to the store on Monday, November 3, prompting a call to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived shortly and arrested Loanmen.
According to Loanmen, she went back to the store to return the cleats she had purchased on Friday. She claimed that the boy had removed the hoodie from the store without her knowledge when questioned about it. She did not have the hoodie with her when she was detained.
Cumesha Loanmen was taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center, where she faces accusations of petit theft and causing a child to be delinquent.
She was also charged with violation of probation. Loanmen was on probation from Osceola County for previous charges of trafficking stolen property, providing false information to a pawnbroker, and theft. The Department of Children and Families was also made aware of the circumstances affecting the child.
