A wanted felon was apprehended Tuesday afternoon after leading authorities on a brief foot chase through a southeast Houston apartment complex.
On October 7, 2025, around noon, deputies from Constable Jerry Garcia’s Special Operations Unit were conducting surveillance in a high-crime area after receiving many reports of illegal activities. During the operation, a detective in an unmarked vehicle observed a man going out of an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Broadway Street, carrying a pistol in his waistband and an extended magazine.
As deputies approached to investigate, the man, later identified as 26-year-old Alfred Lucious, fled into a nearby apartment complex and hopped a fence. Deputies swiftly lost sight of him and requested assistance.
The Constable’s Office Special Operations Unit, patrol deputies, the Houston Police Department, and HPD’s helicopter FOX all formed a perimeter and began scouring the area. A Precinct 2 K9 unit was dispatched and promptly alerted to a backyard behind the apartment complex. Deputies cleared the land and discovered Lucious hiding near a house, where he was apprehended without additional incident.
Investigators discovered Lucious had two outstanding felony warrants: one for aggravated assault and one for manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. He is now facing an additional felony charge of Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Constable Jerry Garcia praised his officers for their quick response and thanked the Houston Police Department for their support.
“The teamwork and quick response by everyone involved ensured a dangerous individual was safely taken off our streets,” Garcia said.
