Phoenix police announced on Friday that they had apprehended the last individual wanted in connection with the murder of a teenage boy last month.
Police said they arrested 20-year-old Charles Stokes, Jr. on Thursday. He was taken into custody on first-degree murder and armed robbery accusations.
Three teenagers have already been arrested and charged as adults with the death of Trey Bomelyn, 16, on October 2.
According to authorities, Anthony Coleman, Syncere Jack, Jacari West, and Stokes were involved in an armed robbery of a group of kids around 37th and Roeser Road.
According to court filings, Bomelyn and two other kids were playing the high school game “Assassins” with water guns when three people approached them.
They attempted to steal from the group. The culprits fled, and police say Coleman opened fire on the victims.
Bomelyn died on his way to the hospital. Police claimed the second victim was found shot on the scene, and the third juvenile was taken to the hospital. The other two should survive.
The other three accused are under 18 but are facing adult charges.
