An investigation is underway after a man was shot during an attempted robbery at a house party on Indianapolis’ near west side on Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, police were dispatched to the 900 block of North Pershing Avenue shortly after 2 a.m. on a complaint of a person shot.
When cops arrived on location, they discovered an adult male with gunshot wounds.
According to investigators, officers used a torniquet on the man’s leg before medics arrived on the site. Following the incident, the man was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, according to authorities.
Investigators suspect two men arrived at a house where a party was taking place and attempted to rob the person who opened the door. When the man refused, the other two men shot him, authorities claimed.
Authorities gave no suspect descriptions. IMPD is still investigating the event.
