Two men were killed and four others — including two young children — were injured in a four-vehicle crash Friday night in Saline Township, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP).
Troopers responded around 7:30 p.m. to the area of Michigan Avenue and Willow Road, where investigators say a 56-year-old Brooklyn man driving a Dodge Ram westbound tried to pass a Volvo semitruck and collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee traveling eastbound.
The impact forced the Jeep, driven by a 36-year-old Tecumseh woman, off the road. The Dodge then sideswiped the semitruck before crashing head-on into a Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 43-year-old man from Osseo, police said.
Both the Dodge driver and the Chevrolet driver, who was ejected from his vehicle, died at the scene.
A 46-year-old Osseo woman in the Chevrolet and the Jeep driver were hospitalized with critical injuries, while the Jeep driver’s 2-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter suffered minor injuries.
Investigators said alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation by Michigan State Police.
