Six people were arrested this week after a large-scale narcotics investigation revealed fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine inside a Windsor residence, according to the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, deputies, assisted by Springfield and Windsor police, executed a search warrant at a residence on Route 5 South. Sheriff Ryan Palmer stated that officers discovered evidence of narcotics trafficking, including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and a firearm with ammunition. Scales, cutting agents, and packaging supplies were all retrieved.
According to authorities, the Vermont State Hazardous Items (HAZMAT) Response Team was dispatched to the scene when a large number of suspected fentanyl-laced items was discovered, posing a risk to first responders.
Those arrested include Windsor residents James R. Morse, 60; Aria Garamella, 50; Sarah K. Barbour, 38; Kevin Esty, 41; John K. Murray, 51; Timothy Murray, 49; and Jonah R. Meadows, 50. Each is charged with various counts, including conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, and firearm crimes.
The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department stated that the matter is still under investigation and that the suspects are set to appear in court on January 13, 2026.
Authorities commended the Vermont State HAZMAT Response Team, as well as the Springfield Police and Fire Departments, for their support during the operation.
