A man was apprehended in connection with a string of destructive burglaries in Long Beach.
Long Beach police said the suspect, Raymond Edward Billingsly, 34, was involved in at least six break-ins in the last two weeks.
Detectives stated that in each incident, the suspect would shatter a storefront or vehicle glass before stealing property and escaping.
Police suspect Billingsly is responsible for the burglaries at:
- 10/26 – 420 Cherry Avenue – Commercial Burglary
- 10/26 – 2201 Lakewood Boulevard – Commercial Burglary
- 10/28 – 913 E Wardlow Road – Commercial Burglary
- 11/1 – 2211 E 7th Street – Commercial Burglary
- 11/2 – 2841 E Anaheim Street – Commercial Burglary
- 11/2 – 2700 block of Spaulding Street – Vehicle Burglary
On November 3, while patrolling, police discovered Billingsly at Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue, and he was arrested. Officers identified him from security footage as the alleged burglary suspect.
He was arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools, and a probation violation, and is currently being held without bond.
No more information, including the suspect’s booking photo, was released. The cases will be brought to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
