Two men were shot and killed Saturday evening after a confrontation with an armed robber outside a jewelry store in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, police said.
The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. in the 3800 block of West 26th Street. According to preliminary reports, a man entered the jewelry store, brandished a gun, and demanded property. After taking valuables, he left the business.
While outside, the suspect got into a fight with two men—ages 25 and 63—and fired multiple shots at them, striking both. The victims were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Police said the 63-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the face, head, and body, while the 25-year-old suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.
After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene in a white SUV heading southbound on Springfield Avenue. No arrests have been made as of Saturday night, and Area 4 detectives are investigating.
