A 38-year-old Franklin man was arrested after allegedly shoplifting from the Franklin Borough ShopRite several times during the past month, according to police.
According to police, Jason B. Mohl was arrested on October 18, 2025, after loss prevention officers at ShopRite reported that he had fled the property following an alleged theft.
Police claimed Mohl was detained without incident at the neighboring Weis Markets.
An investigation found that Mohl reportedly stole consumable merchandise from ShopRite without paying in full at the self-checkout on at least five occasions between September 20 and October 17, 2025.
Following the investigation, Mohl was charged with shoplifting, a disorderly persons infraction, and a borough code violation for the alleged conduct.
In compliance with the New Jersey Bail Reform Act, he was released on a complaint summons and ordered to appear in Franklin Borough Municipal Court.
