A man convicted of shooting someone in the knee at NorthPark Mall in 2024 will serve 14 years in prison.
Ricardo Horne was sentenced Thursday morning and will serve three years on supervised release after completing his sentence.
Horne was originally charged in Scott County with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, willful injury, and felon in possession of a firearm.
These charges were dropped in January, after he was indicted in federal court for felon in possession of a firearm.
According to federal court documents, he pled guilty to the crime in July.
On July 22, 2024, police reacted to reports of shooting at the mall located at 320 W. Kimberly Road.
According to police, security video shows Horne pulling out a weapon and firing once at a gathering of people, striking one in the knee.
A 16-year-old has also pleaded guilty in relation to the shooting.
