A fiery crash early Thursday morning on the 10 Freeway in South Los Angeles left one person dead and another injured, according to authorities.
The collision occurred around 2:17 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Arlington Avenue in the Jefferson Park area, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
The crash involved a car and a food truck. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 32-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in fair condition.
A fire broke out following the impact, leaving both vehicles heavily damaged and charred along the side of the freeway. As of 5:40 a.m., the three rightmost lanes and the Arlington off-ramp remained closed while crews worked to clear the wreckage, according to a Sigalert.
Authorities have not released details about the cause of the crash or when the lanes will reopen.
