Authorities from multiple agencies recently concluded a joint operation in Los Angeles County as part of an ongoing investigation into train burglaries in the Victor Valley area. On Thursday, October 30, 2025, the Rural Crimes Team, assisted by the Victor Valley Detective Bureau, MET Team, BNSF Railroad Police, Homeland Security, Southgate Police, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, executed seven search warrants in various locations.
The operation began around 6:00 a.m., with the first warrant served in the 4900 block of Mason Street in Southgate. Following up on previous information, investigators uncovered a big, sealed prefabricated room within a body shop containing a significant amount of stolen BNSF goods.
Evidence gathered at that original location led to the authorization and execution of two further search warrants at a residence and a business across the street from the Mason Street address. Three individuals were apprehended: Alfredo Santos Reyes, 34, of Southgate; Cesar Martinez, 41, of Southgate; and Jorge Castillo, 46, of Southgate. All three were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property (PC 496), with two warrants linked to the second Southgate location.
The investigation expanded to Paramount, where evidence from the first three warrants resulted in a home search. Additional stolen BNSF property was discovered there. Two more search warrants were issued for storage facilities at an adjacent site, where additional stolen BNSF property was discovered. A final search warrant for another Paramount residence led to the recovery of additional BNSF stolen items.
BNSF calculated that the total value of all recovered property was $2,118,459.20. All seized property was released to BNSF and returned to its rightful owners.
