A teenage girl died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the Harborview Terrace NYCHA complex on 10th Ave. and W. 56th St. in the wee hours of November 2.
The anonymous 18-year-old died in a stairwell shortly before 1 a.m., police say. According to the Daily News, authorities are still unsure whether she purposefully shot the gun or discharged it by accident. Initial reports simply stated that she was “shot to death,” giving the idea that she was shot by someone else.
The teenager was transported to Mt. Sinai West, a few streets away on 10th Ave., but she could not be saved. The city’s medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
