Lady Buffaloes Bully Their Way To The State Tournament

Not often are games over after that first quarter but that was the case Saturday night in Fentress County as Clarkrange beat Moore County 70 to 21, to qualify for state.

The Lady Buffaloes did not allow more than 10 points in any quarter against Moore County. In the second quarter Clarkrange allowed only one point for the entire quarter.

Clarkrange took firm control of the game as the two teams went into halftime with a 45 to 7 first half lead. Coach Rogers called off the Buffaloes in the second half and emptied his bench.

Offensively, Clarkrange caught fire from from behind the three point line as they buried 14 three pointers on the night. Seven different Lady Buffaloes hit at least one three on the night.

Kaylie Monday hit four, three pointers. Chloe Howard, Lexi Pierce, Mattie Bush, and Kacey Sells all hit two shots from beyond the arch. Kassie Monday and Beth Conatser each hit one, three a piece.

Kaylie scored a game high 20 points. Her twin sister, Kassie dropped in 19 points of her own.

The state tournament begins March 12th at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro. The first game is set for 1:15 P.M.

The matchups for Thursday’s games have yet to be determined.
