Two dead, one hospitalized after rollover crash on Woollomes Avenue in Delano

Two people were killed and another was hospitalized after a solo-vehicle rollover crash early Thursday morning on Woollomes Avenue in Delano.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred around 12:28 a.m. on October 16, 2025, west of Wallace Road.

A preliminary investigation found that a 21-year-old man was driving a 2017 black Acura ILX eastbound at an undetermined high speed when the car veered off the roadway for reasons still under investigation.

CHP reported that the Acura traveled northeast off the road and crashed into several large metal poles and a wooden power pole along the north dirt shoulder, causing major damage to the vehicle.

Because the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, he was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified him as Elias Antonio Hernandez, 21, of Delano.

The front-seat passenger, identified as 19-year-old Andru Luque Felix of Delano, also suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

A 19-year-old woman in the back seat survived and was transported to Kern Medical with injuries.

Both directions of Woollomes Avenue west of Wallace Road were closed for about three hours during the investigation and cleanup.

Authorities said it remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
