Body Found In Lycoming Creek Has Been Identified

The coroner identified a man found in Lycoming Creek on Thursday morning.

The Lycoming County Coroner identified the man as Nathan Sherman, 48, of West Chester, Pennsylvania.

According to Chief Nick Smith of the Trout Run Fire Department, a call was received just before 10:00 a.m. about a man face down in Lycoming Creek.

Several tree trimmers in the area discovered the victim’s body, according to Smith.

According to the coroner, his office and the Pennsylvania State Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Susque Road, where Sherman was located floating in Lycoming Creek’s southern side.

Witnesses reported that Sherman had been fishing in that location on Wednesday evening, and they discovered his fishing equipment nearby.

According to family members, Sherman had a lengthy medical history, and the Lycoming County Coroner found no evidence of foul play.

The Pennsylvania State Police and the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office are investigating.

Crews remained on the site until noon.
