A Kern County jury has convicted Deandre Weston on multiple child sex crime charges following a trial that began on September 10, 2025.
Weston was found guilty of two counts of oral copulation of a child under 10, two counts of sexual penetration with a child under 10, and one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
According to investigators, the crimes occurred over a four-year period from 2017 to 2021, during which Weston repeatedly molested the victim, who was between 6 and 10 years old. The abuse came to light after the victim reported it to a school teacher, prompting an investigation by the Bakersfield Police Department and leading to Weston’s arrest.
District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said,
“Laws against child sexual abuse reserve the most serious punishments for those that target the youngest, most vulnerable victims. Weston’s years-long pattern of abuse warrants a life prison commitment, which he is expected to receive when sentenced.”
Weston faces up to 120 years to life in prison, with sentencing scheduled for November 12, 2025.
