Tracey Lee Stanley, 63, of Inverness, Florida, has entered an open plea of no contest to charges of second-degree murder in the death of her roommate.
Stanley appeared before Judge Joel D. Fritton and chose to forgo a full trial. She is charged in connection with the death of 72-year-old Andrea Kathleen Day. Following a brief discussion with her attorney, Stanley entered the plea and is scheduled for sentencing on January 9, 2026.
The case began on July 20, 2024, when Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a deceased person at 6033 East Rector Street in Inverness. Upon arrival, deputies found Day inside the residence, “clearly deceased for a while,” and wrapped in a tarp.
Stanley, Day’s roommate, was questioned by Major Crimes Detectives and subsequently arrested in connection with the death.
Assistant State Attorney Blake Shore is prosecuting the case.
