The Bakersfield Police Department’s Organized Retail Theft Unit has arrested six suspects linked to a string of thefts targeting several local retailers.
On September 29, 2025, officers apprehended four suspects connected to nine separate theft incidents at stores including Ulta, Nordstrom Rack, Target, and PetSmart, with stolen merchandise valued at $9,234.76.
Roberto Cardiel, 32, and Tiffany Marchand, 32, face multiple theft and drug-related charges, while Brioni Castro, 35, and Lindsey Owen, 29, were charged with theft.
In a separate investigation, Kent Angeles, 65, was arrested on October 2, 2025, for his alleged involvement in eight thefts from Lowe’s hardware stores, resulting in a $2,793 loss. Angeles faces grand theft and shoplifting charges.
On October 6, 2025, police arrested Naeem Washington, 21, in connection with thefts at Walgreens, Target, Dollar General, and JCPenney, with stolen goods valued at $3,409. Washington faces charges of grand theft, shoplifting, conspiracy, and possession of a controlled substance.
In total, officers recovered $15,436 worth of stolen merchandise, according to Bakersfield police.
