A police pursuit in Ridgecrest ended with the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of a large quantity of fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the Ridgecrest Police Department (RPD).
On October 1, 2025, RPD officers were conducting surveillance on a suspected drug house in the 300 block of N. Alvord Street.
Officers observed Brian Jay Sanders, 61, leaving the residence on a dirt bike. When they attempted a traffic stop, Sanders fled through city streets, sparking a police chase.
The pursuit ended when Sanders abandoned the bike near N. Brady Street and W. Weiman Avenue. Officers quickly apprehended him, allegedly finding fentanyl in his possession. One officer sustained moderate injuries during the chase and was treated at a local hospital before being released.
Detectives later secured a search warrant for the Alvord Street home. Inside, officers reportedly discovered three-quarters of a pound of methamphetamine, a quarter pound of fentanyl, and over $12,000 in cash.
Timothy Johnson, 59, was found inside the residence and admitted to selling narcotics, according to police.
Both Sanders and Johnson were booked at the Lerdo Detention Facility without incident. They face multiple narcotics-related charges as the investigation continues.
