Fugitive Wanted In Michigan And Illinois Apprehended In Chicago Suburb, Sheriff’s Office Says

A man wanted for crimes in both Michigan and Illinois was apprehended last week in Bridgeview, authorities said.

Sandy Baker, 50, was apprehended on September 26 by the Cook County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, which was collaborating with the United States Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force.

Baker was wanted in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, for a home invasion and in Lake County, Illinois, for burglary.

Investigators said they set up surveillance at a motel in the 7200 block of South Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview after receiving information that Baker might be sleeping there. Around 10:30 a.m., officers observed a man matching Baker’s description entering a white Chevy SUV in the parking lot. They verified his identity and brought him into prison.

Baker was arrested the next day and taken to Cook County Jail.
