A 19-year-old man accused of shooting another teen on Chicago’s West Side was facing charges Monday morning, according to police.
Officers reported hearing gunshots soon after 1 a.m. in the first block of North Laramie Avenue, off Washington Boulevard in the South Austin area.
While responding, police say they saw the man fleeing with a gun in his hand. He was captured within minutes of the incident, and the gun was found, authorities added.
The police also discovered an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the back. He was transported to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in good condition.
On Monday morning, Harrison Area detectives were conducting an investigation.
