Two brothers were recently apprehended in Central Florida for threatening to kill a couple.
Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two brothers in Winter Haven after deputies were called to a Jan Phyl Village residence for an aggravated assault.
According to the victims, two men arrived in front of their home and threatened to murder them for riding ATVs in front of their property. One of the suspects handed the other a gun, and he threatened to kill the couple.
Deputies were able to locate the suspects’ vehicle in front of their Reynosa Road property.
The two suspects were identified as Joseph Sibold, 45, and Jason Sibold, 43. The males are brothers, according to law officials. Both guys denied leaving the residence that night or possessing a handgun.
Detectives found proof that the men had left their possessions, as well as a Taurus 9mm handgun, in the brothers’ attic.
According to local authorities, Jason and Joseph were detained and brought to the Polk County Jail, where they were charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, disorderly conduct, and resisting.
While the brothers have only been in Polk County for a year, they both have extensive criminal histories: Jason has 21 felony convictions and six misdemeanor convictions, while Joseph has 11 felony convictions and 11 misdemeanor convictions.
