Man Fatally Shot on Foothill Freeway in Azusa

A man was shot and killed Friday afternoon on an embankment along the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Azusa.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that officers responded around 2:55 p.m. near Citrus Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire.

Authorities found the victim at the scene and pronounced him dead. His identity has been withheld until relatives are notified.

Due to the location and circumstances, detectives from the CHP Southern Division Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation. The motive remains unclear, and no suspect description has been released.
