Two men were wounded in an early-morning shooting Wednesday in West Park, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).
The gunfire was reported just after 2 a.m. in the 3900 block of Southwest 58th Avenue, BSO spokeswoman Claudinne Caro said. Deputies found one victim at that location, while the second was discovered less than two miles away near the 4100 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard. A white BMW with its driver’s side door open was spotted at the second scene, taped off by investigators.
Neighbors described waking up to a barrage of shots. “It just sounded like they wasted a whole mag,” said resident Ethan Moreau. Another nearby resident, Jennifer Peart, recalled: “I sprang up out of my sleep… my husband said it sounded like firecrackers. I said, ‘No, it’s not Christmas.’”
Both victims were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. Detectives with the BSO Violent Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate.
