A Leesburg woman was detained after reportedly pointing a gun at a driver in her car who believed her to pull the trigger.
A deputy responded to a battery involving 21-year-old Lexis Mae Wilcox at 2936 South Dr. in Fruitland Park around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
When the deputy arrived at the nearby Lakeside Storage, located at 2570 U.S. Hwy. 27, he met a female victim who indicated that her daughter had also been abused. The complaint states that the victim went to the residence, and three other individuals arrived shortly after.
She was seated in her car when Wilcox walked past, opened her shirt, and revealed a glossy black revolver. According to the complaint, Wilcox then kicked in the front door of the residence, shouting about someone.
She returned from the screened section of the property, pulled out the weapon, and pointed it at the victim from the passenger side of her vehicle, saying, “What now?” The victim feared for her life and believed Wilcox was about to pull the trigger because of her wrath, according to the report.
Deputies then responded to Wilcox’s home at 606 S Lone Oak Dr., Leesburg. She gave them permission to enter, and they discovered an unloaded black Taurus G3C 9mm pistol in the top dresser drawer of her bedroom.
Wilcox was arrested on the accusation of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The New York native was taken to Lake County Jail and freed after posting a $5,000 bond.
