New York Man Charged With Shoplifting Over $1,100 From CVS In Warren County

Feds Charge 8 in Massive Fraud Linked to Minnesota Housing Stabilization Program

A New York man was taken into custody Wednesday after police said he stole over $1,100 in products from a CVS in Hackettstown.

According to police, at 12:49 p.m. on Sept. 17, an officer noticed a man sprinting across Main Street with a bag, and a CVS employee followed him, urging him to halt. The suspect, later identified as Robert M. Alphont, 42, of New York, N.Y., dropped the bag when he saw the police car but proceeded to walk away.

The officer stopped Alphont and discovered the bag included stolen items worth $1,143.53, according to authorities.

Alphont was accused of shoplifting and booked into the Warren County Correctional Facility.
